J&M Services recently completed a culvert replacement and asphalt‑paving project in Ridgetop, TN that restored drainage and delivered pavement built to outlast Middle Tennessee weather. After excavating through the existing blacktop and hauling away 30 tons of debris, we installed a corrosion‑resistant culvert on a properly graded sub‑base fortified with 22 tons of crusher‑run stone and 10 tons of riprap for reliable storm‑water flow. The trench was backfilled and compacted in 6‑inch lifts with a jumping jack and plate compactor, creating a stable foundation for the new pavement. To guarantee durability, we applied 9 inches of heavy‑duty base asphalt—twice the industry standard—capped with a 2.5‑inch surface course; all joints were pre‑heated for a seamless, watertight bond. The result is a driveway that resists rutting, washouts, and freeze‑thaw damage while safely channeling runoff away from the property.
